Polestar appeared its first creation EV and saw its electric auto line in New York with the CEO solidly training in on Tesla.

The Volvo backup pulled the cover off its Polestar 1, which it situated less as a half breed and more as a completely electric (gas discretionary) auto to draw in fence sitters to EVs.

The $155,000 auto—that will hit roads in 2019—has 3 electrical engines controlled by twin 34kWh battery packs and a turbo and supercharged gas V4 in advance (more points of interest here).

All electric range is up to 100 miles—which the organization claims gives the Polestar 1 the longest all electric scope of any generation half and half.

The Polestar 1 brings 600 pull and 738 ft-lbs of torque. It is the first in an arrangement, with an all electric Polestar 2 to make a big appearance in 2019 and a Polestar 3 SUV after that.

"Polestar 2 will be an immediate contender to the Tesla Model 3… " CEO Thomas Ingenlath said on the dispatch organize.

He disclosed to TechCrunch the organization will concentrate more on making changes over to EVs than pulling without end Tesla's current piece of the overall industry.
